How The treatment Works
Using laser technology, we can greatly reduce or even completely remove tattoos that are no longer desired. The laser beam breaks up the particles under the dermis and your body naturally dissipates them. This process is repeated until the tattoo is sufficiently faded or removed.
Removing a tattoo with laser provides the lowest scar risk and most effective treatment for removing your tattoo with optimal results.
Why Do People Choose To Remove Tattoos?
There are many common reasons why people choose to fade or remove tattoos. These include things like aesthetic, rethinking your choice, and more.
Lifestyle or Personal Aesthetic
Tattoos are personal. Over time, things can change – whether about your life circumstances or even your personal taste. If you don’t feel positive about your tattoo anymore, it’s normal to look for ways to remove it. Whatever your reasoning behind your change, you’ve got options with laser tattoo removal.
Poor Decision Making
Whatever led you to decide to get a tattoo, feeling like it wasn’t a smart choice can be hard to live with. For this reason, laser tattoo removal can be a great way to get rid of past mistakes and feel comfortable in your skin again.
Using Lasers for Tattoo Removal
Lasers are the safest and most effective method of removing most tattoos. Patients can expect excellent results!
Most colors can be treated, although newer flourescent colors may be more difficult to remove. Darker colors, like blacks and blues, are the easiest to remove as they are the easiest to target with lasers. Yellow and green, or other light colors, can be more difficult to properly focus on.
Laser tattoo removal is the safest way to remove a tattoo with the least risk of scarring the skin. Risk of scarring is very low, about 5% for most patients. It is important to follow the post-treatment instructions you receive in order to keep this risk low.
Laser Tattoo Removal: What to Expect
Laser tattoo removal is the most effective way to remove a tattoo, but it’s common to not know exactly what it is or what it does. In brief, this is a clinically proven method of tattoo removal that doesn’t cause any scarring. A Q-switched laser hand-piece is used to deliver pulses of light energy, which then shatters the tattoo ink so it can be absorbed into the body as waste.
How does laser tattoo removal work?
When removing a tattoo, laser light is applied to the treatment area. The tattoo ink particles absorb the energy from the laser machine, shattering the pigment. This breaks it up into smaller pieces that can be absorbed by the body. After a few weeks of laser treatment, the immune system breaks the ink, causing it to fade.
Subsequent treatments shatter more and more ink, fading it slowly over a 6 – 8 week period.
